Khubulay was the youngest brother of Munkh Khan,
the son of Tulay and the grandson of Chingis.
Khubulay Khan transferred the political center of
the Mongolian Empire to Beijing to the south and
founded the Mongolian Dynasty in China. This
dynasty, called the Yuan Dynasty, lasted almost
exactly 100 years, and ruled over China and
Tibet.
Although the Chinese expelled the Mongols and
eradicated any evidence of the Khanate in
Beijing, China's modern-day claims to Inner
Mongolia and Tibet are derived from the fact that
the Yuan Dynasty ruled Mongolia and Tibet at the
same time it ruled China.
