With the passing of Elbeg Niguulsegch Khan, his eldest son Guntumur became the next Khan. The split between the Oirat Mongols and the Mongols of the Khan, already at a fevered pitch, grows into open rebellion during the term of Guntumur Khan and dissidents killed him in 1402. |
